Hull Swahili Diaspora (HSD) is a constituted organisation that was initiated in the spirit of Ubuntu, taking the African family as a model for a wider kinship system. Ubuntu addresses people interconnectedness, our common humanity, and our responsibility to each other.

HSD was founded by members of main Swahili speaking countries following the arrival of refugees from Congo, Somalia, and Burundi. However, in alignment with our Ubuntu philosophy, our aim is to bring communities together to tackle social and economic issues together.
